OUR SEWING ROOMS

Since January 2015, we have been producing our own products in Italy. The majority of our clothing and bags are produced here in close cooperation with our Italian sewing studios. Today, approximately 90% of our range is produced in Italy, while the remaining 10% is produced in Asia.

We place great emphasis on quality and transparency in our production. You can read more about our entire production journey here.

Italy

Since January 2025, we have been producing our own products in Italy, primarily clothing and bags. Today, we are proud that approximately 90% of our assortment is produced in Italy.

We collaborate with an Italian agent who handles daily contact with our sewing workshops and ensures close cooperation throughout the entire production process. Our production is distributed among several smaller, family-owned sewing workshops, where craftsmanship has been passed down through generations. Their many years of experience and expertise make them some of the most skilled in their field.

Italy has for decades been recognized for its strong fashion and textile craftsmanship. A focus on quality, details, and good craftsmanship is a natural part of the production culture – and these are values that are absolutely central to us.

Furthermore, we place great importance on good working conditions. Production takes place under European standards, and Italian companies comply with current legislation and regulations for working environment and employee rights.

Meet our Italian agent

Meet our Italian agent, Francesco. Since January 2025, we have had a close collaboration with Francesco and his team, after Katinka traveled to Italy and established contact with them.

Francesco is responsible for daily communication with the sewing workshops and plays a central role in the entire process. He ensures the quality of materials, closely monitors production, and contributes to the design process when we develop new styles. The same applies to his skilled team, who are an invaluable part of the collaboration.

When we visit the sewing workshops a couple of times a year, it is also with Francesco. He acts as the important link between us in Denmark and the sewing workshops in Italy – a role that ensures close and stable follow-up, even when we cannot be present daily at the workshops ourselves.

From idea to production

On a daily basis, we work from our office in Silkeborg, where all our styles are designed. We draw particular inspiration from online trends.

When we have an idea for a new style, we send our sketches to Italy, where a sample is developed. When we receive it, we try it on and make adjustments so that it has the perfect fit and expression. After a couple of samples, we are ready to put the new style into production.

However, a couple of times a year, we travel to Italy, where we develop a wide range of new styles and samples in just a few days. This allows us to work closely with the sewing factories and directly with the design process. Here, we can immediately feel the materials and make corrections, thus avoiding wasting time on having multiple samples made of the same design.

At the same time, our trips to Italy are a great source of inspiration, where we often get ideas for new styles and upcoming collections.

Production beyond Italy

In addition to our production in Italy, we also collaborate with carefully selected partners in Asia. Approximately 10% of our product range is produced there, including our bikinis, activewear, and some bags.

Although it is easier for us to visit our partners in Italy and closely monitor production, we place the same high demands on quality and working conditions with our Asian manufacturers. Therefore, we only collaborate with factories in Asia that comply with applicable requirements and possess the necessary certifications for both quality and working conditions.

We highly value transparency and are always ready to answer questions about our products and production. If you have questions about a specific product, please feel free to contact us at kundeservice@bystenholt.dk.
