Who are we?
ByStenholt is a Danish brand founded by Katinka Stenholt in 2017.
I have known since I was very young that I wanted to be independent. I started with jewelry, but quickly developed a passion for clothes. Today, ByStenholt is my one and only business, which I love to run.
Today we are a strong small team of 3, who do our best every day to provide the best customer service and develop ByStenholt with new designs. We try to create styles that fit today's trends and at the same time have low prices with high quality.
Our Journey
How it started:
Katinka was 15 years old when she sold her first handmade jewelry via Instagram. Since then, ByStenholt has grown from a small hobby project into the team and universe we are today. Here, you can follow some of the most important milestones on our journey.
Started on Instagram
July 2017
ByStenholt was originally called TasselbyK, where Katinka handmade the (then) popular tassel earrings from sewing thread. All sales took place via Instagram and consisted exclusively of jewelry.
Expanded from jewelry to apparel
July 2020
Katinka expanded the product range from jewellery to clothes and bought the first styles from Paris. Back then, the entire collection hung on a single clothing rack in her room.
Online store
October 2020
Katinka launched her first website, which went online on October 19, 2020. From then on, all sales were conducted online.
50 sqm storage in the garage
2021
Katinka had a 50 sqm warehouse in the garage at her parents' farm, where she packed orders every afternoon after school.
New dealers from Paris
October 2023
In 2023, Katinka & Mikkeline visited clothing retailers in Paris. They combined the trip with a photoshoot in the beautiful French streets.
500 sqm warehouse in Silkeborg
September 2024
In 2024, we moved into a 500 sqm warehouse in Silkeborg. This is also where we ship all our orders from today.
Office and 3 employees
September 2024
In addition to the warehouse, we also got an office, and ByStenholt grew into a team of 3 employees.
In-house production in Italy
January 2025
In 2025, Katinka went to Italy to find sewing workshops for in-house production. There, she connected with an Italian agent, who today manages the daily operations at our sewing workshops in Prato.
First content trip
April 2025
Our first content trip went to Mallorca in 2025. Here, we shot pictures for the summer collection with two lovely girls.
The team grew to 5
September 2025
Since September 2025, Bystenholt has been run by a team of 5 young women.
+100,000 orders
November 2025
We reached a huge milestone at the end of 2025. We actually reached 100,000 orders and received a very nice "award" from Shopify.
Katinka's 5th visit to Italy
June 2026
In June 2026, Katinka, Josefine, and Silje visited our sewing studios in Italy. Here, we worked on the autumn collection for 2026 and, among other things, visited the studio that produces our popular Paris Bag.
From Instagram to webshop
The story behind ByStenholt started back in 2017 on Instagram under the name TasselByK. Our first product was handmade Tassel earrings, which were very popular. TasselByK grew quickly and the selection of handmade jewelry grew as well.
The company was put on hold for a year and in the summer of 2019, ByStenholt was founded on Instagram when Katinka wanted to expand our range of jewelry and add clothing and accessories to the range.
In the fall of 2020, our website was created and from here the company really took off.
